I saw some amazing things and met some great people on my trip across South America and now it's time to get back to reality. Hello reality where the fuck are you?
Oh right you are in my bank account and my maxed out credit card and passed due car loan.
This really fucking sucks I came back to Barrie Ontario that has the worst fucking unemployment rate in all of Canada and the bills are piling up in my inbox.
The question is was it worth all this financial doom and gloom should I have planned differently and saved for my return "maybe".
I don't think my experience would have been quite the same or memorable if I had.
No matter how shitty things get I tend to always bounce back and I will always remember long bus trips from country to country, Biking down the death road and dancing with girls from cuzco Peru on top of the bars at nightclubs.
Short term pain for long term gain I suppose.
Some things are comforting about coming back like seeing good friends and realizing that wherever you go you always have friends and family to come back to and although they may not change much and what they did last week sounds boring compared to paragliding in Mendoza or touring the salt flats of Bolivia.
Sitting down and shooting the proverbial bullshit with people you have known for over ten years is something more valuable then gold and it does not cost a dime.
